basically she’s in ny right now, and i’m on risd grounds prepping up for freshman orientation. she’s got this awesome internship with doo ri. if you do not know about this fashion designer  i highly suggest you click here.

enjoy some more digestive info about her (other than her absolut Awesomeness):

Toni is short for antoinette. She covets the fast-paced life of the city but relishes doing all that nonsense that is solely appropriate for the rural setting; nonsense such as walking on rooftops + raping the park on a boiling cancer-saturated afternoon + camping out in our own bedroom (and YES there is a makeshift tent included). She can’t help writing ‘DO NOT TOUCH…ON PAIN OF DEATH’ on pretty much all her property ; adores eating sunshine toast, mexican wedding ball cookies, + jam; loves asking me to aid + abet in all her unlawful activity (like sunbathing on the roof, mom FLIPPED + mom never flips). Regarding music she listens to pretty much everything but i remember the first ever album she bought was ‘PINK.’ Toni is more than addicted to adding more work to her already heavily-burdened schedule, and deleting her ‘Recent activity’ on facebook cause it isn’t aesthetically pleasing. She also came up with the oh so brilliant idea of coloring our faces in w/ charcoal. Real, burnt, rock-hard charcoal.

so last sunday…

manila > abu dhabi > jfk airport, ny > blue van > my aunt’s place

the plane ride (etihad airlines) was FUN. i got a surprise, collated a whole new playlist, ate plane food which is DAH BEST, watched ‘alice in wonderland’ again in between taking care of this sweet little abu dhabi-an kid next to me. unbelievably, i fell asleep at the landing point. anyhow, i made it through the airport + eventually made it to my tita’s (that’s aunt in tagalog) apartment, the first face that greeted me was my sister’s – Toni ♥ (Hah! i was so relieved i actually got the right building + apartment.) after we hugged + lost mouth-and-ear coordination telling each other this was ‘Too Surreal,’ (i hadn’t seen her in 2 years – i hear the workload at risd is Intense) we called home base to let them know i was OK. it was an Epic night, Toe took me to this 24/7 diner, we ordered, + had several convos about all the details regarding the philippines, home, extended peeps, risd, ny, webster hall + certain Awesome people…each convo burning down to ‘I can’t believe’s‘ + ‘this is so surreal’s‘ to the point of toni losing her voice..we left around 1.30 am + slept at 2.30 am…and i woke up to another  ‘this is so surreal.’

i’ve had this Black fixation lately…abbey lee expressed it beautifully.  Heading SKIN DEEP, the august issue of vogue china 2010 in minimalist ann demeulemeester, maison martin margiela+ balman silhouettes, abbey lee blows these outfits into a wearable dimension  that consumers can connect to.  Cruising through the fall season, abbey lee drops anchor at vogue nippon, vogue germany, the short-fringe-and-bob parlour, the 80′s themed moussy f/w campaign, sydney airport with her rocker bf matthew hutchinson, as well as jaeger,  h&m divided,  anna sui + the adorable tea-partying mulberry photo shoots.
